You will have received the draws for the British Ladies Open Singles and Doubles Championships and seen that the first round of the Championships commences on Wednesday 8th April 2015.
Please note that the following rules will apply for these Championships (LRTA Tournament Rules will apply):
1. All matches, in both the main competitions and the Plates will be the best of three, first-to-six-games sets. Losers of the 1st Round of the Singles and Doubles qualify for the Plate. Please note in the Singles and Doubles draws, seeds 3 and 4 were drawn for their positions.
2. Please be ready to play at least 15 minutes before your planned match time. Rule 11 of the LRTA Rules for Tournaments states: “Late arrivals shall be scratched if not on court by 10 minutes after the scheduled match time or, in the case of a match delayed for more than 10 minutes, if not ready to go on court immediately the previous match has finished”. It is disappointing for everyone, competitors and spectators alike, if this rule has to be enforced, so please do be ready to play in good time. Please remember to allow plenty of time for your journey as traffic on to Hayling Island can be extremely heavy.
3. Players must wear predominantly white clothing.
4. Practice courts may be booked by contacting Seacourt as soon as possible on the number above and are chargeable. If any courts become free unexpectedly during the tournament, these may be allocated for practice on a first come first served basis at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. Players must note that the Committee may not be able to inform all players of the availability of such courts before they are allocated. No player may use a court for practice in the hour immediately preceding a match in which they are playing. (Rule 10.).
5. The Championship Committee’s decisions are final.
6. Bar food and snacks will be available at the Club from Wednesday lunchtime onwards.
7. The AGM of the LRTA will be held at 18.30 on Saturday 11th April 2015 at Seacourt. It is hoped that all members will try to attend this meeting.
8. The Ladies Open Dinner will be held on Saturday evening at Seacourt. If you have not already reserved tickets for this, please let Viv Dawes know as soon as possible if you would like to attend.
9. If you have requested accommodation, details will be available at Seacourt when you arrive at the Club. If you need to know the arrangements made for you before then, or need directions on how to get to Seacourt, please contact Viv Dawes on 023 92462541 or Alex Garside on 023 92421363 or 07860 653711.
The Championship Committee look forward to seeing you at Seacourt and wish you all an enjoyable and successful tournament.
