What do I gain by joining the LRTA?
• The opportunity to participate in a wide range of ladies’ tournaments run by the LRTA:
• British Open Singles and Doubles and the Open Handicap Doubles (run concurrently with the main Open events)
• LRTA International (the top 8 available lady players by invitation in a round robin format)
• British Handicap Tournaments (Singles and Doubles)
• British Masters (Over 40s)
• Billy Ross Skinner Invitation Mixed Doubles
• Mixed Handicap Doubles
• Mothers and Daughters Handicap Doubles
• Junior Handicap tournaments (according to age and ability)
• High/Low Handicap Doubles tournament (pairing highest with lowest handicaps)
• Golf and Tennis Day
• An annual match with our Gentlemen members
• A large number of inter-club matches (representing the LRTA)
• The opportunity to support the development of Real Tennis, particularly with Under 25 year olds:
• The LRTA bursary scheme
• The LRTA donations as a Patron to the Dedanists' Foundation
• The LRTA junior coaching events
• The LRTA Amateur Incentive Scheme
• Support for development of new courts via loans or donations as and when appropriate
• Concessionary T&RA subscription rates.
The LRTA encourages ladies to be a member of the T&RA as well as of the LRTA and to this end has negotiated concessionary subscription
rates with the T&RA so that ladies are not penalised financially by being members of both associations. Visit the T&RA website for more
information about the T&RA and its activities.
• Receive information and services
• Regular Newsletters keeping members abreast of tournament and match play as well as other relevant news
• Members’ Handbook showing fixtures, names, addresses and handicaps of all members, together with a current listing of all clubs, their
contacts and telephone numbers
• Central assistance with organisation of trips abroad (on request)
• A comprehensive range of LRTA clothing, decorated with the LRTA logo, available for purchase
• Social Opportunities, eg tournament dinners
• Meeting and travelling to tournaments with other members, both nationally and around the world
• each club has an LRTA representative who can organise local club events, coordinate club members views and generally provide a
conduit to the LRTA Executive Committee, though you are free to contact any member of the Committee at any time
