                                                IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ

The draws for the World Championships and Handicap Doubles are below.  The Championships will be run according to the RULES FOR THE LADIES' WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS and the L.R.T.A. Rules for Ladies' Tournaments.  These are available on this website (click on the titles in the preceding sentence) and you are asked to ensure that you read and understand these.  Play will be continuous, so competitors are asked to ensure that they arrive at the court and are ready to play as soon as the preceding match has finished as the times given for matches are guidelines only. The World Championships Rules governing late arrival will be applied from 10 minutes after the preceding match has finished.  Please allow plenty of time for your journey to the court and factor in traffic in and around Leamington and the time it takes to park.

Social Events
A Welcome Reception hosted by Pol Roger will be held at the Club on the evening of Monday 13th April to which all players are invited. If you have not already included this on your entry form, please ensure Viv Dawes is aware as soon as possible if you wish to attend. The Championships Dinner is on Saturday 18th April and the Finals Lunch on Sunday 19th April (in the presence of His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex), both of which are at the Club.  Numbers are limited for these events so please inform Viv Dawes urgently if you wish to attend.

Facilities at The Leamington Tennis Court Club
During the daytime, the Bar Area will be available for competitors and their guests. However, no food will be available to competitors at the Club but there are cafes close by.  The Dining Room and Card Room are reserved for corporate hospitality guests from 6pm on Tuesday to Friday. Both changing rooms will be available to ladies during the tournament and towels will be supplied.

Practice Courts
Practice courts are limited but will be available from 7.30am until 9am each day and possibly late in the evening following completion of play.  These will be free of charge but are limited. They will be available in half hour slots for the whole court for each competitor, ½ hour of Singles use per competitor and ½ hour of Doubles use per pair.  (If two competitors practice singles together, they may book one hour. Similarly, if two pairs practice doubles together, they may book one hour.)  If any courts become free unexpectedly during the tournament, these may be allocated for practice on a first come first served basis at the discretion of the World Championships Committee.  Players must note that the Committee may not be able to inform all players of the availability of such courts before they are allocated.

Please remember that the Rules of the tournament state that no player may use a court for practice in the hour immediately preceding a match in which they are playing.  Please ring the Club on 01926 424977 to book practice courts or email:  club@leamingtonrealtennis.co.uk.

If you are interested in playing at Moreton Morrell generally, please contact Tom Granville on 01926 651229.  The court fees are £20 per hour.

Accommodation, Transport and Parking Competitors who have requested accommodation will be contacted by a Leamington member prior to arrival.  Transportation is available from Seacourt to Leamington on the Saturday and Sunday of the British Open. If you wish to make use of this, please ensure Viv Dawes is aware as soon as possible.  There is no free parking close to the Club in Leamington but there are two car parks on Bedford Street, one next to the Club (limited to 4 hours) and the other a multi-storey two minutes away.

Finally, the Championships Committee is looking forward to welcoming all competitors and wishes everyone a happy and successful tournament.
