For those of you who are T&RA members, can I please urgently draw your
attention to the latest T&RA mailing which contains a ballot sheet for
the election of two members to Council. Can I encourage you please to
vote for Sarah McGivern?
On the Election form, Sarah is described as being "retired" but there
is no information about her previous career. As some of you will know,
Sarah was, for many years, a board level consultant involved in the
management of major nationwide technology projects such as the Channel
5 retuning project and the roll out of Digital Terrestrial
Television. Sarah also has many years' experience on the LRTA
Executive Committee and the T&RA Council and Tennis Committees where
she has been an active and outspoken contributor.
A further reason for electing Sarah is that I am on the Council in my
own right as Chairman of the LRTA but I am the *only* woman and
believe that it is in the interests and good of the game to have more
female representation on Council.
If you feel you can encourage your spouses or others at your Club to
vote for Sarah that would be great.
Please note that completed ballot papers must reach the T&RA Office at
The Queen's Club by 12 noon on Thursday, 18th March, 2010. No
e-mail or faxed ballot papers will be accepted so please pop your
ballot sheet into the addressed envelope provided in the T&RA
mailing. (The T&RA mailing which was sent by Second Class mail took
at least a week to arrive so please use First Class mail if you can.) Should you have mislaid your T&RA mailing or indeed have not received
it, you can download and print off the from the T&RA
website . If you
experience any problems with this or have any queries, please don't
hesitate to contact me.
Thank you very much for any help you can give towards achieving
Sarah's election to the T&RA Council.
